The most powerful new Keystones available in Path of Exile 3.22's Trial of the Ancestors
Off the beaten path is where you'll find the new league, which features a gameplay mechanic that falls somewhere between an Auto-Battler-Style Tournament and a MOBA Arena. Throughout the course of the Tournament, we will compete against numerous Karui tribes. I'm going to explain the new league mechanics here, along with everything else that we've discovered.
Access to the Mechanic with Silver Coins
Silver Coins will serve a purpose in this mechanic that is analogous to that of the Rogue's Marker in Heist. This is a brand-new form of POE Currency, and it has the potential to function both as a medium of exchange and as a means for us to engage in financial dealings.
In total, we'll talk to 11 non-playable characters here. Each of the ten Karui tribes that are competing in the Tournament has a Chieftain, in addition to Navali, who is in charge of coordinating our participation in these Tournaments. Later on, we'll delve into how to interact with these non-playable characters (NPCs), as well as some other details.
How Does The Mechanism Work? – Competitions And Fights
We will be entered into the Tournament if we engage in conversation with Navali. Every time we play, we go up against ten different Karui tribes, and the only way for us to claim the ultimate prize is if we come out on top. With each Silver Coin that we have, we are able to take part in a fight.
Each time we go around, we have the option of picking which tribe we want to compete against, and our decision will primarily be influenced by the prizes that are up for grabs in each conflict. The series consists of the best of three games, so even if we drop one of them, it won't be a problem. However, if we have two consecutive losses, we will be eliminated from the competition. It is necessary for us to win two rounds in order to obtain the corresponding POE Items as rewards, as well as a specific favor from the tribe.
When a Warrior loses their life in battle, they will reappear at their home base, the Totem, a few seconds later. Be aware that they have determined this to be a problem for players in the Hardcore mode because they believe it will.
As a result, Death won't be a permanent state in the new mechanics, and shortly after dying, your character will respawn close to the Totem. However, if we destroy the Totem, these Warriors will perish immediately and will not be able to respawn. Therefore, victory goes to whichever team is first to bring down the Totem of the opposing tribe. In the moments leading up to the start of a fight, we will organize our squad and position on the battlefield a number of objects that will prove useful to us once the conflict has begun. We have an innate capability to comprehend the make-up of our foe, allowing us to select the most appropriate tactic with which to do battle with them.
We need to gain an understanding of the capabilities and limitations of each tribe so that we can tailor our response appropriately. The moment we press the start button, we are transported to the Arena where we engage in combat alongside our Warriors. They will relocate based on the roles and responsibilities that we designate for them.
In the beginning, we were only able to begin a Tournament with three Warriors. However, once we have prevailed in the conflict, we will be able to recruit Warriors once more. In addition, you can use unique POE Orbs to purchase line equipment and Field Items for your characters.
They also mention the fact that if you join a party, all of your other companions will be able to fight alongside your Warriors. After we have completed this game, we will begin a brand new one from the beginning. This results in Warriors and their gear, as well as Field Items, not being preserved.
However, as more games are played, our ranking will improve, and we will be eligible for more valuable rewards. Additionally, if we were to win this tournament, Hinekora would offer us a choice between three special rewards. In the following section, we will discuss all of the unique drops that are included in the mechanics.
Special Prizes Await Those Who Can Defeat the Tribes.
As was stated earlier, when we successfully defeat a tribe, we will obtain the corresponding drops as well as a certain Favor. When we join a clan, we receive favor that can only be used in that clan's store. There are ten distinct flavors of Favor, each of which can be used in the respective shops run by one of the ten Chieftain NPCs we discussed earlier. These NPCs will offer us a selection of three different types of goods from which to choose.
Obtaining New Warrior Members
Every tribe has its share of Warriors, and as was mentioned earlier, these individuals each have their own set of capabilities and limitations. It is necessary for us to evaluate each of these options in light of the combat strategy that we intend to employ. During the demonstration, we were shown some examples, including:
Tortoise is a subspecies of turtle that is slow but resistant to a variety of different effects.
Tuatara is a new type of monster that has skill effects that are more symmetrical and happen more quickly than the previous one. Additionally, in one of the available builds, it possesses the Stealth ability, which enables our team to launch flank attacks against the enemy base.
Goliath of Night is a Warrior that is fantastic for preventing enemies in the mid lane from catching up to us while we are trying to escape. Additionally, it is capable of covering a variety of roles and functions.
Gather Your Equipment
Additionally, we have the ability to equip our Warriors with a variety of items that will enhance either their offensive or defensive capabilities in the heat of battle. It hasn't been verified just yet, but judging from the interface that's been provided, it seems likely that each Warrior will only be able to carry a single piece of equipment at a time.
Items in the Field
This is a collection of items that we can use in combat by either placing them on the field of battle or consuming them while we are engaged in combat. During the demonstration, they said that these items had the potential to heal the entire team or bring back one of our Warriors. If we position one of these items but do not use it during this round, it will remain in the game until the following one. However, as was mentioned earlier, it will get rid of them after the Tournament is finished.
Exclusive Rewards for the Mechanism
When we prevail over the tribe, we have the opportunity to acquire a selection of Favors in addition to the Drops that we observed prior to engaging in combat with them. These drops may be of a more general nature, such as Jewels, Items, or POE Currency. However, we also have the opportunity to obtain rewards that are mechanism-specific. Tattoos are one of the special rewards that players can earn. The attribute nodes of a character's Passive Skill Tree are modified to reflect the addition of tattoos. It takes the place of a bonus that was granted by another stat, which may have been of greater use to us. The ones that are most common can only be used on small attribute nodes and can be obtained by defeating enemies in combat. However, the total amount of the Passive Skill Tree that we can put to use is not subject to any kind of cap. Together with Hinekora, we'll emerge victorious in the tournament and acquire some tattoos that aren't as common.
There are ten different Karui tribes, and each of those tribes is associated with a unique item. Fighting each of the tribes is another way for us to earn these items. When we win the tournament, this Goddess of Death, Hinekora, will offer us a choice between three different rewards. It's possible that she'll give us some one-of-a-kind tattoos, omens, or even Hinekora's Lock.
